How to come up with a year’s worth of blog content ideas
by Jaimie Abbott
Do you ever wonder where you are going to get your ideas for blogs from? There are so many different ways!
I encourage you to type into Google, “HubSpot blog topic generator” and it’ll come up top of the results. This is a really cool tool. You can actually type in your area of expertise into HubSpot and it’ll generate different types of keywords or different types of ideas that you can blog about.
I would type in ‘public speaking’. You can type in anything- ‘adjusting your neck’, ‘how to do massage,’ ‘essential oils,’ etc. It’ll give you ideas such as ‘how to’ or ‘seven ways to’.
What you can also do is type your email in there and you will then have access to a year’s worth of content and it’s all free. But it’ll basically give you all different types. In my case it produced topics such as ‘Will public speaking ever rule the world?’ and ‘The next big thing in public speaking’ for example. HubSpot will send you emails (just opt out if you like) but they do have some really cool tips and you can download as a spreadsheet all the different topic ideas.
This is a really cool tool if you wanted to commit to doing one blog a week for one whole year. It’s going to give you lots of different ideas.
Another great tip is to create a blog which is “3 top tips to {insert keyword}. The numbers 3, 5 and 7 generally are great if you’re doing listicles. So list topics such as ‘seven ways to improve your public speaking.’ For some reason, research shows that with the numbers particularly 3, 5, 7, 9, people are drawn to them more than 2, 4, 6 and 8.
So have a go at using the HubSpot blog topic generator. Type in your keyword or what it is you do, such as coaching. If you’re a financial planner, you may want to type in the word “budgeting” and it will spit out all these different ideas. Have fun coming up with all your content ideas!
